Sr. QA Analyst

The Senior QA Analyst will work on activities that generate and provide feedback not only on test status, test progress, and product quality, but also on process quality. This role is for a technical team member who has intermediate experience in testing and software quality assurance, and will be an advocate for quality process improvements within the development they are embedded in. The role focuses on primarily on defect detection, but can contribute to defect prevention (user story review). The candidate has to be comfortable with scripting and writing basic code as a tester, not as a software developer. The Senior QA analyst writes and executes on manual and automated test projects, and will contribute to expanding the test automation coverage (functional and API tests). 

Responsibilities

  • Provide input for User Story Acceptance Criteria, review & approve Acceptance Criteria as a group with the Product Owner and the Product Engineer who will work on a user story.
  • Write and execute stepwise test cases and exploratory test charters under minimal supervision that verify that the user stories’ acceptance criteria are met.
  • Manage all written test cases in a test case repository (e.g. test case management platform).
  • Execute and troubleshoot automated end-to-end tests (Webdriver IO with Javascript) and automated API tests (Postman with Javascript)
  • Help the Agile development teams think about how new stories will impact the larger system.

Qualifications

  • Must have hands-on experience (5+ years) working in an Agile software delivery environment, writing JavaScript code or other scripting languages, understanding of the SDLC, STLC processes, and QA methodologies. 
  • Experience in manual testing of client Web & GUI applications preferred. 
  • Experience executing and troubleshooting Selenium test scripts or other functional QA test automation tools (HP UFT, Tosca) also preferred.
  • Some experience working with data and API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or REST-Assured.
  • Some experience with advanced SQL query techniques. Ability to create SQL joins between multiple tables to gather and verify data.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Prior experience working in a DevOps environment leveraging Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, and etc.
